I’ve never been very good with plants. Somehow I end up over or under watering them and my best intentions wither before my eyes. My mom has the same luck, so for a very long time I surrendered to the fact that it simply could not be overcome. Until yesterday.
I got up bright and early and headed over to the local home and garden store and spent an hour carefully reading the tags of each appealing and affordable plant. By the time I was done, I had a flatbed cart full of flowers and vegetables, good soil, and mulch.
Then, it was just A LOT of hard work! If I had the right tools I’m sure it would have been much easier, but I made do and now I have this!
Look Mom! It’s a planter bed! With actual flowers! Can you believe it?
I also planted a few veggies that I super excited to be able to use in the kitchen. I picked tomatoes, zucchini, and basil. Mmmm… yum! I have a bunch of seed packets that I might try to get spouting to join these guys, if I haven’t missed the season entirely.
Maybe a brown thumb can turn green after all? We shall see…..
